Disneyland Abu Dhabi on Track, Miral CEO Reaffirms Commitment
Plans to bring Disneyland to Abu Dhabi are progressing steadily, with Miral Group CEO Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi confirming continued commitment to the project. In a LinkedIn post congratulating Thomas Mazloum on his appointment as Chairman of Disney Experiences, Al Zaabi emphasized ongoing collaboration between Miral and Disney.
He said, “As we continue our journey to bring Disney to Abu Dhabi, I look forward to working closely with Thomas and the Disney team to turn this vision into reality. Together, we will create something truly extraordinary for our region and guests.”
Announced in May 2025 through a partnership between Miral and The Walt Disney Company, Disneyland Abu Dhabi will be the first Disney theme park in the Middle East and Disney’s seventh global resort. Early images shared by Bob Iger from Yas Island indicate a waterfront location, with Yas North emerging as the most likely site.
The multi-year development will involve 1–2 years of design followed by 4–6 years of construction, aiming for a potential opening in the early 2030s. The park will introduce innovative features, including water-integrated design in Disney’s signature castle, described as “authentically Disney and distinctly Emirati.”
Yas Island, already home to Ferrari World, Warner Bros. World, and Yas Waterworld, is set to remain the UAE’s premier hub for family entertainment and tourism.
